Plans and billing
Subscribe, pay, find your invoices, cancel, and understand what refunds, payment problems and the status on your account mean.
What a subscription includes
AI Interview Assistant is an account subscription. There is one plan, AI Interview Assistant Pro, with every feature in it, billed for the term you choose. The terms on sale and their prices are on the pricing page, read live from the service, so they are never out of date there.
- There are no product keys or license files. Your plan belongs to your account, and the desktop app picks it up when you sign in.
- The full term price is charged up front, and the subscription renews for the same term until you cancel.
- Taxes are calculated at checkout by the billing provider. A plan card says so when its price includes or excludes taxes.
- Every plan includes AI. The card shows the monthly allowance as “AI credits per month”. Your question and the answer both use credits. The same plan also includes up to 30 hours of transcription and 200,000 characters read aloud per month. Unused allowances do not roll over. See AI credits and usage for where to see what is left.
A plan card lists Unlimited interview sessions when the plan has no session limit. What the subscription covers, feature by feature, is on the features page.
Subscribe
- On the pricing page, press Choose (for example Choose 3 months) on the term you want. That opens your account page with the plan picked. If you are signed out you are asked to sign in first, and a new email address creates an account (see Create your account).
- On the account page, under Subscription and Choose a plan, press Subscribe for that term (for example Subscribe for 3 months). The chooser appears only while you have no current subscription.
- Pay on the billing provider's secure page. You enter your payment details there; AI Interview Assistant never receives card numbers.
- You return to your account page. It shows Payment being confirmed until the billing provider confirms the payment, usually within a few seconds, and then your subscription appears.
- Open the desktop app, signed in with the same account. It picks up your new plan automatically, but it only reads your plan when it starts, when you press Refresh on its Account page and, in newer versions, when you come back after pressing Upgrade. If it still shows Upgrade to use AI Interview Assistant after you paid, press Check my plan if your version has that button, or close and reopen the app.
If your account still does not show the subscription after about a minute, press Check again. If it is still missing, contact support at support@aiinterviewassistant.com instead of paying again.
The desktop app can also take you to the website to upgrade. It opens the upgrade page in your browser, which asks you to confirm the account (see Open the website from the app) and then shows the plan chooser, or your current plan if you have one.
Offers and discount codes
- An offer shown on a plan is applied automatically at checkout. There is nothing to enter, and the plan says how long the discounted price lasts.
- A discount code is applied when you open the pricing page through its link (for example
/pricing?code=…), or when you enter it on the checkout page. The page tells you when a code will be applied. - A code cannot be combined with an offer that is already on a plan. Checkout then uses the offer shown, and the page says so.
- Only one discount applies to a checkout.
The status on your account
The Subscription section of your account page shows a status and a few lines about it: the plan, the billing term, the date it renews or where access ends, any trial or grace period, and how long the desktop app keeps working offline. If support has given you access for a period, a Courtesy access until date is shown too.
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Active | Your subscription is active. | Nothing to do. |
| Trial | You are in your trial period. The date it ends is shown. | Nothing to do. |
| Ending | You canceled. The subscription stays active until the end of the paid term, shown as the “Access ends” date. | To keep it, reactivate it from Manage subscription before that date. |
| Payment problem | The latest payment could not be collected. Access continues during a short grace period, and the date it ends is shown. Your data is not deleted. | Update your payment method in Manage subscription. |
| Action required | Your bank needs you to confirm a payment. | Complete it in Manage subscription. |
| Paused | The subscription is paused. Premium features are unavailable until it resumes. | Contact support if you did not expect this. |
| Expired | The subscription has ended. Your account, billing history, data export, deletion and support stay available. | Subscribe again from the account page whenever you like. |
| Access removed | Premium access was removed after a refund or a payment dispute. | Contact support if you think this is a mistake. See Refunds. |
| No subscription | You do not have a subscription yet. | Choose a plan on the account page. |
| Unavailable | Your subscription status cannot be read right now. | Try again shortly, and check the status page if it lasts. |
Invoices and payment method
On the account page, press Manage subscription, invoices and payment method. It opens the billing provider's secure customer portal, where you can update your payment method, see your invoices and cancel. When you have no current subscription the button reads Invoices and payment method and opens the same portal for your past payments.
The button appears once you have a billing account, which is set up when you first go to checkout.
Renewal, cancelling and changing term
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each term until you cancel. The Renews date is on your account page.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep access until then. The status changes to Ending and the account shows an Access ends date. You can reactivate before that date from the same place.
- After cancelling. Your account, billing history, data export and support stay available. Nothing on your computer is deleted.
- Changing term. The account page does not switch a running subscription to another term. Choose the term you want from the account page once the current subscription has ended, or contact support if you need help before then.
If a payment fails
- The status changes to Payment problem. You keep access during a short grace period while the payment is retried, and the account shows the date the grace period ends.
- Update your payment method in Manage subscription. If your bank needs you to confirm the payment, the status is Action required: complete it there.
- Your data is never deleted because of a failed payment, and your data on your computer is not affected.
- If the payment is not recovered, premium features turn off and the subscription expires. You can subscribe again at any time.
- A first payment that was not completed has no access to continue. The account shows Confirm the payment by with a date instead.
Refunds
The full policy is on the refund and cancellation policy page. In short:
- Whether you can get a refund depends on where you live and on the point in the billing period.
- Where a legal right to withdraw applies, it is honored as the law requires.
- A refund goes to the original payment method, through the billing provider.
- When a payment is fully refunded or disputed, premium access for that subscription ends. Your account, data export, deletion and support stay available.
- If you delete your account while you have an active subscription, the subscription is canceled with the billing provider first, so you are not billed again. Whether any unused period is refunded follows the same rules. See Delete your account.
To ask for a refund, contact support at support@aiinterviewassistant.com, or send a request from the Support section of your account page with the topic Billing.
